I must say that I enjoyed this book. It was a good storyline and it kept me wanting to read more. I loved how the author described Sinnamon's early life and explained that even though she had it rough she was also determined to be successful and fulfill her dreams.However, towards the middle to the end of the book Sinnamon turned into a totally different character. At certain points felt that the things that she and Essence got into was both unneccessary and risky. Greed and ignorance was causing them to do a lot of unrealistic things, but then again it is urban fiction ). It's possible that I forgot or didnt pay attention to a certain part of the story but it seemed that the situation with Gage and the characters that surrounded him came out of left field. Overall, I'm eager to find out what happens in part 2 and I hope that Sinnamon gets her life together
Let me start by saying that I don't generally like urban tales written by men with female lead characters but this author did his thing with this book.
I am a little disappointed that I could not find the first book to start at the beginning of this series. Since I wasn't able to find the first book I didn't understand the connection between Esco, Flip, Mills and Gauge, Arrissa, etc. However, I truly enjoyed this book and this one told a story all its own.
One part was extremely unrealistic. You telling me that dude was throwing money at Sinnamon, bought her a Benz, moved her and her brother in with him and she was living with him but she was still a virgin? She was living and sleeping next to the dude but never slept with him? The whole time I was reading with the side eye. Uh Okay. Aside from that I really enjoyed this book. There were Twists and turns a plenty. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Hopefully it comes out soon although probably not since the first book was published in 2007 and the second book wasn't published until 2012. We shall see.
"Sinnamon, It Gets Dirtier" by Wasiim tells the tale of a young girl plagued with a drug addicted mother. Deciding to take her life into her own hands, she's determined to succeed in life and see to it that her younger brother does the same.Meeting new friends prove deadly as Sinnamon struggles to continue down the dangerous road of life. Will she make it out unscathed or will it be too much for her to handle?
Sinnamon was a good read. I actually had this book for a while but it wasn't until it was recommended to me that I actually read it. The story was pretty good. I enjoyed the growth of Sinnamon and Essence, however, I do feel that Sinnamon did a total flip from who she was at the beginning of the book to about the mid way point. Her priorities changed and I almost had to wonder if I was reading about the same character. There was one major inconsistency in the story .Also,I didn't find out until I was almost done with the book that it is actually a sequel to a discontinued book so I was a little lost with the Gage story line. With all that being said, I did enjoy it and look forward to reading " When It Hits The Fan".

The story of Sinnamon and Essence was a very good one. I loved the development of the characters and how they hit it off from the beginning. I love the part that Esco plays in the whole book and I like the relationship that has developed between him and Sinnamon. The story starts off with Sinnamon having to take care of her younger brother Shaquan because their mother abandoned them for drugs.
Sinnamon is forced to live in poverty and it shows through her clothes she wears at school. Forced to live with ridicule she got fed up and attacked her attackers, which led her to meet Essence.
Essence comes from a similar background as Sinnamon, but one wouldn't know because Essence likes to keep up appearances with her clothing, shoes, and underwear...Sinnamon takes Essence in and together they form an unbreakable sisterhood. Essence upgrades Sinnamon, but when their plan to get money goes bad..they turn to Esco...
Esco is immediately attracted to Sinnamon and forms an bond with both girls...he looks out for their best interest and make sure their pockets are fat..but that isn't enough for either girl..they are on a mission to become millionaires and together they form a bond to rob unsuspecting men, using their sex appeal...everything goes good until a robbery goes wrong and paths become crossed and friends become enemies...
